Besides his extensive fiction and journalism writing, Matthias also holds a Ph.D in English Literature and Linguistics, obtained in April 2012 with the highest distinction 'Excellent with Honours'. The thesis received the 'European Doctorate' mention from the University of Cologne. Matthias is the author of several academic articles published in international journals which can be downloaded in this section. Matthias has taught English to students at all levels; from teaching infant and primary students to working as an English Teacher for secondary students, and all the way to lecturing and teaching at university. After completing high school education in the British schooling system in Qatar, he worked there as a journalist for two years before moving on to study at the University of Nottingham in England. In 2010 he earned a Masters of Art in English Language: New applications and International Communications at the University Complutense of Madrid.
